Palm reading scanner: what it really does, and how to use one well
A palm reading scanner is not a machine that measures you. It is a camera, a photo of your palm, and a reading written from what the picture shows. Here is what to expect and what to check.
What a palm scanner actually is
Despite the name, nothing is scanned in the way a fingerprint reader scans. You take or upload a photo of your open palm. Software then looks at the picture, identifies the lines and mounts it can see, and a reading is written from them. The quality of the reading depends on the quality of the photo and on how honestly the tool describes what it saw.
Five things worth checking before you upload
- Does it show its working? A good reading says which feature each statement came from. How we read shows ours.
- Does it say what the photo could not show? Blur, glare and a cut-off edge hide lines. A reading that never admits a gap is guessing.
- Does it keep what you told it separate? Your own answers should not be handed back as something read off your hand.
- What happens to the photo? A palm photograph is personal data. Look for a clear statement on deletion. Ours is deleted as soon as the reading is written.
- Is it honest about what palmistry is? Be wary of any scanner that promises health, lifespan, fertility or money predictions. Palmistry cannot support them.
How to get a scan that reads well
- Use daylight from a window, falling from one side so the fine lines show.
- Hold the palm open and flat to the camera, fingers gently apart, with the whole palm and wrist in frame.
- Keep the phone steady and let it focus before you take the shot.
- Take the dominant hand first. Which hand gets read explains why.

Common questions
What is a palm reading scanner?
It is a tool that reads a photo of your palm. Nothing physical is scanned: you upload a picture, the lines and mounts it shows are identified, and a reading is written from them.
Is there a free palm reading scanner online?
Yes. Palm & Line gives every account two free readings from a photo, with no card needed.
How do I take a good photo for a palm scanner?
Use side light from a window, hold your palm open and flat to the camera with the whole palm in frame, and let the phone focus before you shoot.
Is it safe to upload a photo of my palm?
A palm photo is personal data, so check any tool's deletion policy first. On Palm & Line the photo is deleted as soon as the reading is written.
Can a palm scanner predict my future?
No. Palmistry has no proven predictive power. A reading is entertainment and a prompt for reflection.
